Take it to the max
For those who love the maximalist approach designers such as Becca Who offer a world of options. The most recent Becca Who collection is inspired by the wonders of the natural world, featuring peacocks, tigers and lemurs in an opulent colour scheme. The collection promises to help you "immerse yourself in a world where colour and pattern seduce the senses" and it certainly delivers.
Other options which would work beautifully as part of a maximalist look include dramatic florals from the Designers Guild Ghirlanda collection, botanicals from Camengo's Guarana collection and Japanese-inspired Ereganto designs from Bill Beaumont Textiles.
A splash of colour
While all out maximalism is certainly an acquired taste, many Dean & Co customers are keen to bring more colour into their home albeit in a somewhat subtler way.
When you are starting a room from scratch or maybe moving into a new build which has been designed for mass appeal, you have complete freedom to go with a whole new colour and pattern scheme. More thought needs to be given if you are working around existing decor and furnishings, but there is still plenty of opportunity to take a fresh approach. Picking fabrics in a contrasting as opposed to a complementary colour can add a new zing to a room. And accessories such as cushions or tiebacks in bolder patterns or colours can add further interest when coupled with a more neutral scheme.
Sometimes you need to be a bit brave
Our colour of the moment is a vibrant citrus green, which can work particularly well in a summer house or conservatory. It's fresh, works brilliantly alongside navy and neutrals or spice things up by coupling it with a splash of magenta.
Sometimes you need to be a bit brave with colour if you are going to achieve a standout look. A recent customer chose curtains in a beautiful plum pink and paired these with green tie backs. It was a bold choice, but it worked so well and the final look was just perfect.
