Have you got adventurous with your wallpaper yet?

Wallpaper: I know a lot of what you read assures you that this or that will ‘transform a room’ but I’m going to say it: wallpaper really can.

Whether you’re a wallpaper aficionado, or you’re not yet convinced of the glorious impact wallpaper can have on your interiors, perhaps these will inspire!

With so many fabulous designs available, you can literally find one to suit any space. I’ve selected a few of my favourites from the latest collections.

Eye-catching pattern

To create a specific theme or to add interest in a small space, a definitive pattern is ideal. This is the Oyster Shell design from Designers Guild. They also do the co-ordinating fabric which really helps to complete the look.

It’s eye catching, and a bit different: a great way to show a bit of personality within your home.

Wallpaper for teenagers

When it comes to decorating teenagers’ rooms, murals can be a great way to add some personality in a way that perhaps parents wouldn’t mind too much! Rebels Walls do an excellent range and this ‘Street Art’ Mural, would surely be acceptable for any teen?

Stylish stripes

Stripes usually tend to create a more traditional, formal feel, yet this Parchment Stripe in Concrete from Designers Guild is soft and subtle. I like the light blue shade which is perfect for pairing with bright floral soft furnishings, creating a really fresh, summery feel.

Fabulous florals

There are so many takes on florals in the world of wallpaper that I found it almost impossible to choose a favourite. However, this Harsyra print from Sandberg combines two of the biggest interior trends for this year; foliage and midnight blue tones. I do love the pop of colour from the mustard furnishings in this pic too!

Subtle checks

This ‘Lotta’ subtle grey, gingham check from Sandberg is ideal for adding subtle interest in an airy room and naturally works perfectly with any shade of grey. It looks fantastic in this kitchen dining space. For bolder checks, Osborne & Little have an excellent selection, I especially like their ‘Toto’ range.

And now for something tropical...

Finally, I think for the right setting, this ‘Palmaria’ palm tree paper by Osborne & Little is simply stunning. It also works with other patterns, such as on the cushions in the picture, for a really contemporary look.

Thank you for reading and if you’d like some help choosing wallpaper or would like to browse the extensive wallpaper (and fabric) collection we have available in store (we have a rather nice coffee shop too which I find makes the experience even more enjoyable) then please come and see us inside Hatfields of Colchester on the first floor.
